Introduction & Core Technology
Application & Validation
ChromaTwist (CT) presents a novel patented portfolio of innovative dyes excited by UV wavelength lasers (320 nm and 355 nm), offering exceptional properties for advanced flow cytometry.
Differentiated Chemistry: Patented molecular (non-polymer) and non-tandem structure will eliminate the common degradation and performance limitations associated with some conventional UV dyes.
Highly Tunable Properties: A highly modular dye chemistry allowing increasingly large Stokes shift provides custom-engineered emission from UV to red, with potential into the near-infrared region.
Patented Scaffold Technology: Enables future design of bespoke fluorophores with completely customisable Staining Index (SI) values.
Application & Validation
Comparable Performance: CT Blue dye demonstrates staining indices on PBMCs that are fully comparable to leading competitor UV dyes.
Expanding Colour Portfolio: Six additional dye colours are currently in manufacture for flow cytometry testing, backed by a unique capability to develop bespoke, designer colours.
Multicolour Panel Evaluation: Performance evaluations of CT Blue (non-scaffolded) conjugated to CD4 (SK3) are demonstrated within multicolour panels alongside conventional commercial UV and non-UV dyes on the SONY ID7000.
Four Colour Panel

- A four-colour panel evaluates CD4•CT-Blue alongside commercial (non-UV excitable) CD3, CD8 and CD19 conjugates on PBMCs. Following lymphocyte selection and doublet exclusion, a CD19 vs. CD3 plot was utilized to isolate the T-cell population (CD3+).
- The subsequent CD8 vs. CD4 plot confirms the expected mutually exclusive distribution of primary T-cell subsets.
- Despite the observed spread in the CD4+ population, likely attributable to a range of F/P ratios and the brightness of the CD4•CT-Blue conjugate, the data confirms the conjugate is fully functional and compatible within this multi-colour commercial panel.
Five Colour Panel

- This five-colour panel evaluates CD4•CT-Blue alongside commercial UV, violet and other excitable CD8, CD14, CD19, and CD3 conjugates on PBMCs.
- Following lymphocyte selection, doublet exclusion and CD14-FITC gate to verify monocyte exclusion (not shown) a CD19 vs. CD3 plot was utilized to isolate the T-cell population (CD3+) using a CD3-BV480 conjugates.
- The subsequent CD8 vs. CD4 plot confirms the expected mutually exclusive distribution of primary T-cell subsets.
- Despite the observed spread in the CD4+ population, likely attributable to a range of F/P ratios and the brightness of the CD4•CT-Blue conjugate, the data confirms the conjugate is fully functional and compatible within this multi-colour commercial panel alongside a BUV and BV dye antibody conjugate.
